Fantastic performance from our Mixed U15/14 team tonight against Norton
The game started a little slow as to be expected with a team that hasn't played together before but they played themselves into the game beautifully.
Phoebe in goal didn't have a lot to do but when called on make some excellent stops including a triple save in the second half.
Rosie and Harriet were solid in defense but more importantly they controlled the shape at the back and were composed in possession under pressure.
Emily, Kyra and Annabel were amazing in right and left half, playing there for the first time they took to it well and made massive stides in understanding a tricky position today.
Miriam, Emma and Kayla played well in the middle of the pitch, controlling the game and turning in a bit of class when needed. The 3 combined for a slick penalty corner converted by Kayla and Emma also opened the scoring. With a well finished goal for herself.
Millie and Nicole had a spell in midfield were they performed well for players who are new to the position and also played upfront were Millie got herself in the scoresheet with a lovely goal.
Maisy, Margot, Lexie and Isobel (who is new to the position and the 11-a-side game) played well upfront, improving throughout the game combining well and improving their positioning and runs to creat space. Margot (1) and Lexie (2) also scored some lovely goals to complete the 6-0 scoreline.
More important than the result was how they played, making massive amounts of progress in performance and in understanding of the game.
I am really looking forward to them making further steps this summer!
